Are you excited to rank some candidates? You’re in luck! The Beacon straw poll for the Democratic gubernatorial primary is officially open. You can participate by joining Beacon on Facebook messenger right here. Just tap or click “Get Started” to begin.
Just like at the polls on June 12th, you can rank up to seven candidates in your order of preference.
We’ll be announcing the results in two weeks, on June 6th, after The Final Forum, a candidate event the Maine People’s Alliance is hosting in Lewiston along with Young People in Recovery, Grace Street Recovery Services, Maine Community Integration and the Center for Wisdom’s Women.
This poll is not meant to be scientific, but as with past straw polls it should give a good sense of where readers and listeners of Beacon are on the race. By conducting the poll through Messenger and authenticating individual Facebook accounts, we’re able to ensure that everyone only gets one vote (or seven, really, but you know what I mean).
